Description
Tube stereo preamplifier.
This preamp was the predecessor to the Audio Research SP-1 preamp. William Z. Johnson used many of the design features of this preamp when he built the SP-1 preamp. This preamp was built by William Z Johnson and it is a one of a kind unit.
The Electronic Industries PAS-2 preamp took the chassis from the Dynaco Pas-2 and completely redesigned it's interior with new circuit boards and an octal plug for connecting the external power supply. The faceplate is a stock Pas-2 faceplate. The preamp does have a variable loudness control which was a huge improvement over the fixed Dynaco loudness control. The external power supply used the best available parts at that time, and is heavy and very well built.
